Mission Statement

The mission of Universal Therapeutic Massage Institute Inc. is to provide students with sufficient training that enables graduates to work in the field of Massage Therapy in an entry-level position or open a practice of their own.

Educational Objectives

The primary objectives are to:

• Identify and demonstrate the five basic strokes in Swedish Massage.

• Explain the purpose of, and demonstrate a protocol for, each of the following modalities: Trigger Points, Myofascial Release, Hydrotherapy, Sports Massage, Shiatsu and Reflexology.

• Describe contraindications for massage.

• To instill in each student a spirit of balance and harmony, and to bring out the special talents that are unique to each and every one of us.

• To maintain the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.

• To promote effective communication.

• To educate the public as to the benefits of therapeutic massage.

• To improve the public image of massage therapy by promoting ethical practices.

• To establish stronger credibility for massage therapists within the medical community.

• To provide a clean, comfortable, relaxed, professional atmosphere which is conducive to learning.

• To provide for the needs and concerns of the students and clients with a sensitive, caring faculty and staff.
