Affordable Tuition

UTMI remains one of the lowest priced Massage Therapy schools in New Mexico. In fact, you can attend the Therapeutic Medical Massage program (51.5 semester credits or 1080 contact hours of training) for almost what it costs to attend other schools that do not even offer the advanced education in medical massage courses.

Self-Directed Clinic

At UTMI - we treat you as an adult - understanding that you have your own life with priorities. Therefore, you choose when you want to conduct your clinical internship - not the School.

We use Microsoft’s Power Point with overhead projectors for almost all of our classroom instruction. Large, full-color graphic displays of presentation materials, charts and videos. We are continually improving our resources to provide the best instructional resources.

Focus on Medically Modeled Massage

Although we introduce our students to other massage modalities, our focus is on what we feel offers the greatest opportunity for employment for our graduates – medically modeled massage. You really will be helping your clients live a fuller and better life. We do not offer other programs - we concentrate on what we do best and what will help you the most.

All Inclusive Pricing

Our tuition includes everything you will need as a student as well as your graduation requirements. The only thing you will need to provide is 2-3 sets of sheets. We also provide you with scrub tops, flash cards and as well as an ample supply of your choice of massage oil/cream/gel that should last you through class and internship. (These items are included in a package when you purchase your textbooks from UTMI.)

Advanced Studies Available

UTMI is proud to offer an advanced studies course specializing in medical massage related courses. We are one of the first schools and currently the leading school in several Western states to offer this advanced training and certification program called “Therapeutic Medical Massage”. This is an exciting time in medical massage; rapidly becoming more prevalent among medical practitioners and is the fasted growing area of massage therapy.

Accreditation

UTMI is accredited through the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). UTMI is licensed by the New Mexico Massage Therapy Board. We are also an approved school by the U.S. Department of Education. This allows you to access Title IV funds – if you qualify.

Convenient

We offer morning, afternoon and evening classes with new classes typically starting monthly. You can find a class that is convenient to fit around your current work schedule.

Linear Instructional Track

We do not offer the “wheel” instructional track for our basic Massage Therapy program. A “wheel” program is where you can enter your instruction at any point in the program – possibly entering in the more advanced classes – feeling lost and confused. We feel that this is not conducive to providing you will the best learning environment. We provide a linear training track, where you learn the basics before the advanced. You learn “1” then “2” then “3” in the natural order.
